Not all sunsets are created equal. This breathtaking beauty lit up the sky over Lake Champlain after a day of heavy rains. Misty, scattered clouds rose off the distant Adirondack Mountains, and hovered just out of reach as strong winds blew them over the lake. Much higher clouds held deep purple and blue tones and slowly stroll over the vault of the sky. In the distance tranquil blue skies emerge from the tumult and rays of golden orange light poor into the mass of churning, windswept clouds. The lake is rough; waves rip apart and reform as the energy in the water is cast in several directions at once. Though the storms have ended, the crisp, humid air holds a slight charge.
